Daily stock updates

Daily, at 00:10, the script api-btc.cgi is run.
This uses the official SOAP interface to update stock levels, it will show / hide products as appropriate.

Regular price updates

BTC will let us know when they have new prices, we can then request a CSV file from their portal which can be uploaded and processed by the Import product data tool in the Admin section.

Follow this process to update the BTC prices:

1. Request the CSV file from the BTC portal, it will be emailed to enquiries@dssafety.co.uk
2. Upload this file in the Import product data tool
3. Select the uploaded file and tick the 'Perform import' box then process the file

Note that you can perform a dry-run by processing the selected file without ticking the 'Perform import' box.

Regular product updates

BTC will let us know when they have new products, we can then download an Excel file via FTP, save it in a suitable format which can be uploaded manually to the web server via FTP. This can then be processed by manually running the script btcDBimport.pl to add new products and update, or remove, existing products.

As of 2021, this process no longer includes prices, they are updated as explained above. There have been changes to the data format, the product-update process may need to be modified.

Credentials to access all BTC activewear product data -

(note the less-than symbol in the middle of the password!)

Meryl or Monica will let Rich know when there is a new product file available from BTC.
We could add an upload facility to Admin to process this.
